My name is Nanette.  I have been a teacher since 1999 and a parent since 2002.  I love children and have made many special connections as a teacher, mentor or parent for most of my life.  I won’t make claims that I have answers on how to fix the current state of education.  However, I can tell you that my peers and I did very well with the way education was run in the 1970s and 1980s,  There are doctors, lawyers, teachers, judges, financial analyst, and writers among us.  Many of us are frustrated with our own children’s educations because a lot of it just seems like a waste of time. Maybe my thoughts will offer all of us some insight.
